White Crafts Wedding Stationery Tips

1- Your ‘save-the-dates’ or invitations are the first insight guests have to your special day, so make sure you get it right to set the scene from this initial correspondence. White Crafts will help make your wedding stationery unique, as each and every card is hand made and we often make a completely new design to suit each wedding. No two weddings are the same and your stationery should reflect this.

2- If you want to send out ‘Save-the-dates’ they should go as soon as you have booked your wedding day. White Crafts can supply magnets, key-rings, coasters, door hangers, or even lollypops, to name a few!

3- When choosing your invitations, think about what you want or need to tell your guests. Obviously you will need to tell them who’s getting married, the date, and venue, but you’ll also need to consider RSVPs, local accommodation details, directions to the ceremony and reception, parking availability, possibly a gift list, and a point of contact on the day in the case of a problem. All of these things can play a part the type of design you have for your invitations. White Crafts offer wallet fold cards, cheque book style cards, pull-out pockets, swivel cards, petal fold cards, and the good old traditional style card, plus many more. All these designs have their own special purpose, depending on your needs and taste.

4- Don’t panic! If you haven’t organised all this yet, or don’t want an invitation full of all the extra information, White Crafts offer a personalised webpage service, where your guests can simply log-on to find out. Check out www.whitecrafts.com/rachaelandalex to see what yours could look like. White Crafts control the site so any alterations can be instantaneous.

5- White Crafts offer a personal service so we like to meet our brides and grooms to be, so you can have a close up look at what you’re getting, but if you are further a field then we are only a phone call away.

6- Send out your invitations at least 3 months prior to the wedding date. This should give you enough time to receive all your RSVPs, chase-up those who haven’t replied, and confirm your numbers with your caterers.

7- Try to order your invitations well in advance. Approximately 6 months before your wedding date should be sufficient, but the earlier the better, as our order book can fill quickly.

8- Should you find yourself with so much to do, and so little time to do it, don’t worry, White Crafts can help. We can write your invitations for you, post them and even have your RSVPs sent to our premises, or use our personalised RSVP e-mail service (e.g. brideandgroom@whitecrafts.com) so we sort it all for you.

9- Remember, the most organised and carefully considered guest lists can change, and even with the best intentions smudges happen and wine is spilt, so always order an extra few for those little mishaps. White Crafts have no minimum orders so you can order anything from 1 to 1000. Also remember that if you’re having 100 guests, your number of invitations is likely to be half this (50) as the majority of guests are normally couples or families.

10- Feel free to ask us any questions you have – there’s no such thing as ‘a silly question’. If your family tree is more like a thorny bush and you’re unsure of wording, grammar, spelling or etiquette, we can advise you at every step of the way. For those more sensitive issues, such as excluding children from your wedding or dealing with the ‘accompanied guest’, be assured that it needn’t be that stressful.

11- Having a colour scheme for your wedding day is a great way to tie everything together. White Crafts stock over 100 different coloured cards and 80 different top quality ribbons to get as close as possible to your chosen colour. But don’t stress too much if it’s not exactly the same. No one will be wandering around on the day comparing your stationery to flowers, chair sashes or the bridesmaid’s dresses!!

12- Remember it doesn’t stop at the Wedding Invitations. You’ll normally also need RSVPs, Evening Invitations, Order of Service, Confetti Cones, Table Plans, Post Box (for all your Wedding cards), Table Names or Numbers, Place Names, Menus, Favour boxes, Favours, Lottery Card holders, signage to point guests in the right direction, not forgetting the Thank You cards. Having all of these components matching and coordinating can help bring an elegant flow to your day, linking the Save-The-Dates to your invitations to the big day itself, all the way through to the Thank You cards. White Crafts can do as little or as much of this for you as you wish.

13- Most importantly, remember it is YOUR wedding, so YOU make the rules!!
